Given :- the price of 4 tables and 5 chairs is 6500₹. the price of 4 tables and 2 chairs is 5000₹. what is the price of a table? what is the price of a chair ?

Solution :-

Let us assume that, price of 1 Table is Rs.T and price of one chair is Rs.C .

then,

→ price of 4 tables and 5 chairs is = Rs.6500

→ 4T + 5C = 6500 -------- Eqn.(1)

also,

→ price of 4 tables and 2 chairs = Rs.5000

→ 4T + 2C = 5000 --------- Eqn.(2)

subtracting Eqn.(2) from Eqn.(1), we get,

→ (4T + 5C) - (4T + 2C) = 6500 - 5000

→ 4T - 4T + 5C - 2C = 1500

→ 3C = 1500

dividing both sides by 3 ,

→ C = Rs.500

putting C value in Eqn.(2) now,

→ 4T + 2 * 500 = 5000

→ 4T + 1000 = 5000

→ 4T = 5000 - 1000

→ 4T = 4000

dividing both sides by 4,

→ T = Rs.1000 .

Hence, The price of a Table is Rs.1000 and Price of a chair is Rs.500 .
