then price of pen =x+9
price of book=x+9+8
=x+17

12(x+9)+12(x)=9(x+17)
12x+108+12x=9x+153
24x-9x=153-108
15x=31
x=31÷15
x=2.7 price of pencil
x+9=2.7+9= 11.7 price of pen
x+17=2.7+17=19.7 price of book
