Let's take the original price to be = x
Price after discount = Rs.1188
Discount = 12%

First we minus the discount from 100 so 100-12=88
So to find the original price we use this formula=

(100-discount)/100*x=original price

88/100*x=1188
x=100/88*1188
x=Rs.1350 answer
If u have any problem ask me

Bilalahmad: U can even re check this answe by finding 88pecent of 1350 that is including discount =88/100*1350=Rs. 1188 (hence proved)

The original price with the present price of Rs.1188 is Rs. 1350

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

price of a shirt is reduced by 12%

present price = Rs. 1,118

To find:

the original price of the shirt

Solution:

Let's assume the original price of the shirt is Rs. x

Now, according to the given

There was a discount of 12% on the original price of the shirt

∴ 12 % of x

Now, the present price = Rs. 1188

So, the present price = original price - 12% of the original price

∴ Present price = x - 12% of x

But the present price is already given

1188 = x - 0.12x

1188 = 0.88x

∴ 0.88x = 1188

∴ x = 1188/0.88

∴ x = 1350

∴ Original Price = Rs. 1,350

The original price is Rs. 1,350
