Let the original price of the suit be 'x'
It's given that the price is increased by 12%
Given, present price =896

x +  \frac{12x}{100}  = 896

→112x=89600

x=800

Therefore, the original price of the suit is ₹800.

Rearranging the formula,

Original price of suit

=(Present price × 100)/(100+ g)

=(896×100)/ (100+12)

=(896×100)/112

=₹800

Therefore,
Original price of the suit = ₹800
