Solution:-

Let the marked price be ₹x.

THEREFORE,

x+12%of x= 2016.

on solving, we get ,x= 1800.

Since, new sales tax =7%,

THEREFORE,

now , the costomer will pay = ₹1800+7% of ₹1800.

=107/100 ×₹1800=₹1926

Therefore, Customer , will pay for the article =

₹(2016-1926) less= ₹90 less. (ANSWER)

THANKS!!!

Question :--- we have to Find MP and how much less customer pay if sales tax is reduced to 7% ?

Given:--- including 12% sales tax price is 2016 ..

Solution :---

we know Total value of anything is 100% .

and including 12% sales tax its value is given 2016

so,

112 % ------------- 2016

1% ---------------- \huge{\frac{</strong><strong>2</strong><strong>0</strong><strong>1</strong><strong>6</strong><strong>}{</strong><strong>1</strong><strong>1</strong><strong>2</strong><strong>}}

100% ------------ \huge{\frac{2016}{112}} × 100 = 1800 = Marked Price ..

Now , sales tax is 7%

so, SP will be

\huge{\frac{</strong><strong>1</strong><strong>8</strong><strong>0</strong><strong>0</strong><strong>*</strong><strong>1</strong><strong>0</strong><strong>7</strong><strong>}{</strong><strong>1</strong><strong>0</strong><strong>0</strong><strong>}} = 1926

Reduced in sales tax = 2016-1926 = 90 Rs. (Ans)
