or,X + 2*y = 340
X=340-2y eqn
cost of table - cost of a chair =10
X- y=10
X = 10+y eqn 2
equating eqn. 1 and 2
10+ y= 340- 2y
3y= 340-10
3y=330
y=110
putting value of y in eqn 2
X = 10 + 110
