\sf\large\underline\purple{Let:-}

\sf{\implies The\: cost\: price\:_{(a\:chair)}=x}

\sf{\implies The\: cost\: price\:_{(a\:table)}=x+40}

\sf\large\underline\purple{To\: Find:-}

\sf{\implies The\: cost\: price\:_{(each\:chair\:and\: table)}=?}

\sf\large\underline\purple{Solution:-}

  • To calculate the cost price price of each table and chair at first we have to set up equation with the help of given clue in the question as you can see that the cost price of two tables and three chairs is Rs. 360. Just set up equation here with the help of above condition. Then calculate the value of x :-]

\sf{\implies Cost\:_{(2\: tables)}+Cost\:_{(3\: chairs)}=360}

\tt{\implies 2(x+40)+3(x)=360}

\tt{\implies 2x+80+3x=360}

\tt{\implies 5x+80=360}

\tt{\implies 5x=360-80}

\tt{\implies 5x=280}

\tt{\implies x=56}

\sf\large{Hence,}

\sf{\implies The\: cost\: price\:_{(a\:chair)}=x=Rs.</p><p>56}

\sf{\implies The\: cost\: price\:_{(a\:table)}=x+40=Rs.96}
