The primary B cell receptor is IgD.(option a)

  • The primary response of the immune system i.e the response of the immune system on the first encounter with the pathogen produces mainly IgM and IgD antibodies.
  • These two are surface-bound antibodies of B-cells 1st produced in response to an antigen.
  • Later these antibodies undergo a class switch to produce the rapid, highly intensified amnestic response called secondary response on encounter with the same pathogen, the second time due to memory.
  • Secondary response mostly involves the presence of IgG and IgE or IgA.
