Let the total no. Of balls be x.

P (red ball) = 1/4.........(GIVEN)

i.e.,

Probability of red ball / total balls=1/4

Probability of red ball / x =1/4

Probability of red ball= x/4

P(orange ball) = 10.......(GIVEN)

Probability of blue ball= x-(x/4+10)

=x-x/4-10

=(4x-x-40)/4....... (LCM)

=(3x-40)/4

P(blue ball) = no. Of blue balls/total balls

1/3 = [(3x-40)/4] / x (1/3 is GIVEN)

Solving it, we get

x=24

Therefore, total no. Of balls is 24.

Hope you get this.

Thank you
