Here we should use formula
P(A ∪ B) = P(A) + P(B) , when P(A∩B) = 0
here, P(A ∪ B) means probability of A or B
P(A) means probability of A
P(B) means probability of B
P(A ∩ B) means probability of A and B.

In given question , there is no common sets between IIM and XLRI
So, P(IIM ∩ XLRI) = 0
P(IIM) = 2/5 , P(XLRI) = 1/3
∴ P(IIM ∪ XLRI) = 2/5 + 1/3 = (6 + 5)/15 = 11/15
