Yes there is a big problem when we see religion as the basis of a nation.
In the theocratic states of the Middle East, many terrorist organizations brainwashes people in the name of religion and make them commit terrorist activities.
For an example, ISIS has been increasing their military strength by bringing in new people. It makes them fight for 'Jihad' and preaches the Holy Quran in a wrong way.
This severely downgrades the prestige of the religion, impacts the mentality of the society, promotes racism and endangers the life of many.
