The green plants convert the solar kinetic energy which is nothing but the light energy from the sun into chemical energy. The process that involves this conversion is called photosynthesis.

The chemical energy produced in this process is obtained in the form of a carbohydrate, or in other words, glucose. This glucose is very important in the food chain as a huge amount of energy is stored in every molecule of glucose.

This energy is then released during digestion and some chemical processes when other organisms consume them
