The process of any term of an equation may be taken to the other side with its sign changed is called transposing.

* All equations have a Left hand side( LHS) and a Right hand side (RHS). Transposition is required to solve various equations in algebra.

* In this process, when a positive variable from one hand side is taken to the other, it becomes negative and vice versa.

Example:

4x -5y = 3y + 2x + 4

Or, 4x-2x -5y -3y = 4.
