Hello Dear.
When 1- propanol undergoes oxidation with acidified K₂Cr₂O₇ , It gives Aldehyde and then further formed carboxylic acid.
Reaction :-
_____________________________
CH₃CH₂CH₂OH ----K₂Cr₂O₇----→ CH₃CH₂CHO + H₂O
CH₃CH₂CHO ---K₂Cr₂O₇------→ CH₃CH₂COOH + H⁺
_____________________________
Reason / Explanation:-
It means In the presence of acidified K₂Cr₂O₇
Primary alcohal --→ Aldehyde + water --→ Carboxylic acid + H⁺ .
So , the product formed is Propanoic acid
Hope it Helps.
