Now,

shikas is 5 years ago=(x-5)years
Shikhar age 8 years later =(x+8)years
Given that
(x-5)(x+8)=30
=x^2+8x-5x=30
=x^2+3x-70=0
=x^2+10x-7x-70=0
=x(x+10)-7(x+10)=0
=(x+10)(x-7)=0
So,
X+10=0 or x-7=0
X=-10 or x=7
