plastics are made up of chains called polymers. This is why many plastics begin with “poly,” such as polyethylene, polystyrene, and polypropylene. Polymers often are made of carbon and hydrogen and sometimes oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur, chlorine, fluorine, phosphorous, or silicon.

biodegradable plastics can degrade in environment if they are processed by industries and then they cause no harm to the environment....whereas the normal plastics don't degrade in environment  and cause a lot of harm to it .
