The properties of the elements which depend upon the electronic configuration of the elements are known as periodic properties. The main periodic properties atomic radii, ionization enthalpy and electronegativity have opposite trends along a period and down the group. In addition to these, another periodic property is valency which is the combining capacity of the elements.

Answer:

This information gives us the definition of periodic properties.

Explanation:

Periodic properties:

1 .Atomic radii:Increase down the group,decrease across a period,generally

2.Ionisation enthalpy: decrease as the size increase

3.Electronegativity:Increase across a period,decrease down the group

4 .Valency:Combining capacity of an element.

Eg:Na

atomic no:11

electronic configuration:2,8,1 .in K,L,M shells respectively..where 1 the valence electron is the valency itself
