The property of a material by virtue of which a body doesn’t return to its original shape after removal of load is called plasticity.
It is the property by which materials undergo shape transformation permanently when subjected to external stress.
Elasticity is just the opposite of plasticity in which materials get deformed only temporarily,i.e. they can always resume back to the original form after the external forces are withdrawn.
