The proximal end of a nephron is closed. What is this modification? The proximal part of a neuron is closed and form Malpighian body to filter the blood collected from the blood vessels. Hence it is a structural adaptation of neuron for the formation of primary urine.

The modification which results in enclosure of the proximal part of the nephron is called the Malpighian body or the Malpighian corpuscle.

It consists of a cup-shaped end along with a glomerulus that encloses. The Malpighian body filters the collected blood and forms the primary urine.

The renal tubule and the renal corpuscle are the two pars of a nephron. Resorption, filtration and excretion are the main duties of the nephron.
