We have, in food A -

quantity of fat (f) + quantity of protein (p) = 100g

but, quantity of protein (p) - quantity of fat (f) = 10g

So, our set of equations for this sum is;

f + p = 100 (eqn 1)

p - f = 10 (eqn 2)

Now, let us derive a value of one of the variables is the following manner;

p + f = 100

⇒ p = 100 - f

On substituting p's value in eqn 2, we get;

(100 - f) - f = 10

⇒ 100 - 2f = 10

⇒ -2f = 10 - 100

⇒ - 2f = -90

⇒ 2f = 90

⇒ f = 90/2 = 45g

∴ p = 100 - f = (100 - 45)g = 55g

Now, let us confirm the values by substituing the respective values of f and p;

eqn 1;

f + p = 100 ⇒ 45 + 55 = 100

and, in eqn 2;

p - f = 10 ⇒ 55 - 45 = 10

Ans) There is 55g or 0.055 kg of protein in food A

The quantity of protein is 55g.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that:

Quantity of fat (f) + quantity of protein (p) = 100g

And Quantity of protein (p) - Quantity of fat (f) = 10g

f + p = 100 ------eqn (1)

p - f = 10 --------eqn (2)

Now

p + f = 100

p = 100 - f

Now substitute the value of p.

(100 - f) - f = 10

100 - 2f = 10

-2f = 10 - 100

- 2f = -90

2f = 90

f = 90/2 = 45g

Protein = 100 - 45 = 55g
