Let the number be "x"

let y be the quotient.

Now, substituting the value of y in equation (1), we get,

Now, according to the question

x/3 = y ______________(1)

Also,in equation (2)

y + 4 = 7

⟹y = 7-4

⟹y = 3

Now, substituting the value of the y in equation (1),we get

x/3 = y

⟹x/3 =3

⟹x = 3×3

⟹X = 9

So, the number is 9
