First finding the are of the two circles.

Area of the circle A with radius 12cm.

3.14×12×12 = 452.16^2

Are of the circle B with radius 5cm.

3.14×5×5 = 78.5cm^2

Now find the sum of the areas

The sum is 530.66cm^2

Now to find the radius of the resulting circle

3.14×r×r = 530.66

r^2 = 530.66/3.14

r^2 = 169

Therefore r = 13cm.

If the radius is 13cm then the diameter is 26cm.
