CF = 4 cm  if The radius of a circle is 2.5 cm. AB, CF are two parallel chords 3.9 cm apart and AB=1.4cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Radius of Circle = 2.5 cm

AB, CF are two parallel chords 3.9 cm apart

3.9 > 2.5

=> chord are on different side from a diameter parallel to AB & CF

Let say ⊥ Distance of AB from center = x cm

then ⊥ Distance of CF from center = 3.9 - x  cm

⊥ from Center Bisects chord

=> 2.5² - (1.4/2)² = x²

=>  2.5² - (0.7)² = x²

=> x  = 2.4

3.9 - x  =  3.9 - 2.4 = 1.5

=> 2.5² - 1.5²  = (CF/2)²

=> 4 = (CF/2)²

=> CF/2 = 2

=> CF = 4 cm
