The radius of a circle with centre 'O' is 13cm. the distance of a chord from the centre is 5cm. find the length of the chord

P be the mid point of AB, So

AP = PB

OP = 5cm = distance of chord from center
And

AO = 13 cm = Radius

Now, OPA forms a right angle triangle.
Now, by pythagorous theorem,

AO2 = OP2 + AP2

AP2 = AO2 - OP2

AP2 = 169-25

=144 =12 Now chord=12+12 =24cm
