Solution:-
Surface area of sphere = 4πr²
Surface area of the balloon radius 1.5 cm = 4π*1.5*1.5
Surface area of the balloon radius 2.5 cm = 4π*2.5*2.5
Ratio of surface area of resulting balloon to original balloon
= (4π*2.5*2.5)/(4π*1.5*1.5)
= (2.5*2.5)/(1.5*1.5)
= 6.25/2.25
= 25/9
Ratio = 25 : 9
Answer.
Surface area of sphere = 4πr²
Surface area of the balloon radius 1.5 cm = 4π*1.5*1.5
Surface area of the balloon radius 2.5 cm = 4π*2.5*2.5
Ratio of surface area of resulting balloon to original balloon
= (4π*2.5*2.5)/(4π*1.5*1.5)
= (2.5*2.5)/(1.5*1.5)
= 6.25/2.25
= 25/9
Ratio = 25 : 9
