The radius of spherical balloon increase from 7 cm to 14 cm as air is being pumped into it.find the ratio of the surface areas of balloons in these situations.

Let new surface area be SA`

Let previous radius be "r"

Let new radius be "2r" ( As 14 is double of 7 )

So

SA =

4\pi \: r ^{2}

And

SA` =

4\pi \:  {(2r)}^{2}

16\pi \:  {r}^{2}

So ratio :

 \frac{4\pi \:  {r}^{2} }{16\pi {r}^{2} }

Ratio : 1:4
