The radius of the base of a riGht circular cylinder is halved and the height is doubled.What is the ratio of the volume of the new cylinder to that of the original cylinder?

V1 = pi*r²*h

R=r/2     H= 2h

V2 = pi*R²*H = pi*(r/2)²*2h = pi*r²/4*2h = (pi*r²*h)/2 = V1/2

thus V2/V1 = 1/2
