Let r be the radius of the circle.

Rate of increase = 3 cm/sec

dr / dt = 3

A = πr2

dA / dt = d [πr2] / dt = 2πr (dr / dt)

= 2πr * 3

= 6πr

When r = 10, rate of increase in area = 6π * 10 = 60π cm2/sec
