The rain which falls on a roof 40 m long and 88 m wide was collected in a cylindrical tank of radius 14 cm, If the rain falls 10cm on a particular day calculate.
i) Volume of water that fell on the roof.
ii) Rise of water level in the tank due to rain.​

l=70; b= 44m & h= 10 cm = 0.1 m

So, volume of water on roof = lbh =
70×44×0.1=308m3 (rainwater)
Roof =cuboidal shaped solid

(b) Let h be the height of the water in the tank.

V of water in
tank= πr2h=227×142h=616h

(Water falls to the roof of solid)
308= 616h

h= 308/616=0.5 m. (Ans= 0.5m)
