Hi,

Data:

Area of field = A = 2 hectare = 2 x 10000 = 20000 m²
Rainfall recorded = h = 5 cm = 5 / 100 = 0.05 m
Volume of water = ?

Solution:

Volume of water = A x h
Volume of water = 20000 x 0.05
Volume of water = 1000 m³
We know that,
1 m³ = 1000 L
So,
1000 m³  = 1000 x 1000 L
1000 m³ =  10⁶ L
Which shows that the volume of water is 10⁶ L.
