Subject: Growing intolerance, materialism, and violence and consequences
Sir:
I am writing this letter to express my concern over the issue of growing intolerance, materialism, violence and materialism among people these days. The frequent incidents of violence that one often sees happening either on road, or on play grounds, or anywhere else, disturb the peace of one's mind. People these days resort to violent means so often. Even for the simplest of problems and challenges, they use violence. Communal clashes, financial frauds, incidents have become quite common.
Intolerance, materialism, and violence make life full of stress. People must get rid of them. Mutual respect, trust, bonhomie, cooperation, etc. are the hallmarks of a healthy and peaceful society.
The need of the hour is to inculcate in our minds the values of non-violence. Violence leads to destruction; non-violence is the best way to deal with problems in hand. I appeal to people to practice spiritual values in their dealings with one another. Kindly, give my views some space in your esteemed daily.
