Given

5, 15, 20

To find :

The ratio between the LCM and HCF

Solution :

5 , 15 = 5 x 3

20 = 2 x 2 x 5

LCM = (5, 15, 20) = 5 x 3 x 2 x 2

= 60

HCF = (5 , 15, 20)

= 5

Ratio = LCM/HCF

= 60/5

= 12/1

= 12 : 1

Extra information :

Product of two numbers = (their H.C.F.) × (their L.C.M.) .

LCM of fraction = LCM of numerator/HCF of denominator

HCF of fraction = HCF of numerator/LCM of denominator

LCM x HCF = products of the two numbers

5 = 5

15 = 3×5

20 = 2×2×5 = 2²×5

LCM of 5, 15 & 20 = 2²×3×5 = 60

HCF of 5, 15 & 20 = 5

LCM:HCF = 60:5 = 12:1

Answer = 12:1
