perimeter of the rectangle is 5x cm
and breadth of the rectangle is x cm
so for a rectangle
2 (length +breadth )=perimeter
ie 2 (length+x)=5x
or length =(5x/2-x)=3x/2 cm
area = 216 sqcm
so length*breadth = area
or 3x/2*x=216
or 3x^2=432
or x^2=144
or x=12
so breadth is 12 cm
hence length is 3x/2=3*12/2 cm =18 cm
