the ratio= x/y= 2/3
on cross multiplying
3x=2y
x= 2y/3

RAMAN'S AGE FOUR YEARS AGO= (y-4)

again on cross multiplying
8(x-4)= 5(y-4)
8x-32=5y-20

8(2y/3) - 5y=12
16y/3-5y=12
taking lcm 3

x= 2(36)/3=24

dheeraj 's age after 7 years= 24+7= 31 years
