the ratio between the rates of walking of A and B is 2 ratio 3 and therefore A takes 10 minute more than the time taken by B to reach the destination. if A had walked at doubled the speed he would have cover the distance in (time ?) ?

Ratio of the speed of A and B =2:3
Let x be the common factor

So A has a speed of 2x units
B has a speed of 3x units
Let the destination be 1 km
So,
B takes time = distance/speed =1/3x min

A takes time = 1/2x min

According to problem,
----------------------------------
-> 1/3x +10 = 1/2x
or, 2x + 60x² =3x
or, 60x² - x = 0
or, x(60x-1)=0
So either, x = 0.. Or, x =1/60
Since speed can't be zero as the man is walking.
So, x= 1/60
If the speed of A is double,

Speed of A = 2× 2x = 4×1/60 =1/15

So distance travelled at time = 1/(1/15) = 15 min__(answer) __

Hope this is ur required answer
