Answer:

Let the angles in ratio 4:5 be 4x and 5x respectively

Sum of complementary angles = 90°

4x + 5x = 90°

9x = 90°

x = 90°/ 9 = 10°

4x = 4 × 10° = 40° = A ( Suppose )

5x = 5 × 10° = 50° = B ( Suppose )

Let A makes a supplementary angle with C

then

A + C = 180°

=> C = 180° - 40° = 140°

=> C = 140°

Let B makes a supplementary angle with D

then

B + D = 180°

=> D = 180° - 50° = 130°

=> D = 130°

C & D are supplementary angles of A & C respectively

Ratio = C : D = 140° : 130° = 14 : 13

The required ratio is 14 : 13
