the ratio of a man's age to his son's age = 4:1
The product of their ages = 196
let the father's age = 4x
let the son's age = x
therefore, 4x×x = 196
or 4x² = 196
or x² = 196/4
or x² = 49
or x = √49
or x = 7

the father's age = 4x = 4 × 7 = 28 years
the son's age = x = 7 years

father's age after 5 years = 28+5 = 33 years
son's age after 5 years = 7 + 5 = 12 years

the required ratio = 33 yrs : 12 yrs
= 33/12
= 11/4
= 11 : 4

Ayushk07: yeah sry it is the same thing after all
Azim5673737: 33 ÷ 3 = 11 , 12 ÷ 3 = 4
Azim5673737: therefore,33/12 = 11/4
Ayushk07: Thank u sir
Azim5673737: your answer will be considered wrong as ratio is always expressed in its simplest form
Azim5673737: so, correct it
Ayushk07: k sit
Ayushk07: k sir

The ratio of the man's age to the son's age = 4:1
Therefore, let the son's age be x
Now, According to the question
x × 4x = 196
4x^2 = 196
x^2 = 49
x = 7
Son's age = 7
Father's age will be 4 × x = 4 x 7 = 28
THEREFORE, after 5 years
Son's age will be = 7 + 5
and father's age will be = 28 + 5
son's age will be = 12
Father's will be = 33
There ratio shall be = 33/12
The ratio will be = 33:12
