Let "x" and"y" be digits

Therefore, the number is 10x + y

» (10x+y)/(10y+x) = 4/7 [Given]

or, 7(10x+y) = 4 (10y+x)

or, 70x+7y = 40y+4x

or, 66x = 33y

or, 2x =y

or, 2x-y=0 ....equ(1)

x + y = 9 [Given] ......equ(2)

Adding equ(1) and equ(2) , We get

» 3x = 9

or, x = 3

substituting in equ(2)

y= 6

Therefore, number= 10x + y

or, 10(3)+6

or, 36
