Mass of second body is 1 kg.

Explanation

Given that equal force applied on two bodies, acceleration produced is in the ratio of 1 : 2 . Mass of first body is 2 kg.

We have to find mass of second body.

Solution

Let the acceleration produced be x m/s² and 2x m/s² respectively.

As we know Newton's second law :

Force = Mass × Acceleration

For the first body :

➻ F = 2 * x

F = 2x N............ (1)

Now for the second body :

➻ F = Mass * 2x

F = M * 2x ........... (2)

Now dividing equation 1 by equation 2 :

➻ F/F = (M₂ * 2x)/(2x)

➻ 1 = M₂ * 1

M = 1 kg

Mass of second body = 1 kg
