ram=6x

amar=3x

9x+6x+3x=18

18x=18

x=1

raj=9yrs

ram=6yrs

amar=3yrs

Answer:

Raj : Ram : Amar = 3 : 2 : 1

Step-by-step explanation:

We have,

Raj : Ram = 9 : 6

Ram : Amar = 6 : 3

Well, if we look closely they are not in the lowest ratio.

So,

Making them in the lowest ratio,

Raj : Ram = 3 : 2 [By a factor of 3]

Ram : Amar = 2 : 1 [By a factor of 3]

Then,

From the first ratio,

Let Raj's age be 3x and Ram's age be 2x.

Similarly, from the second Ratio,

Let Ram's age be 2y and Amar's age be y.

[I took 'y' because the common factor from the 1st case can't be surely the common factor in the 2nd case.]

But we know that,

The same person can't have two ages,

So,

Both the above Ram's age must be equal,

2x = 2y

x = y

Hence,

The Ratio of Raj : Ram : Amar = 3x : 2x : y

OR

The Ratio of Raj : Ram : Amar = 3x : 2y : y

But since,

x = y

They can be converted into terms of x.

So,

The Ratio of Raj : Ram : Amar = 3x : 2x : x

Cancelling the common factor x.

The Ratio of Raj : Ram : Amar = 3 : 2 : 1

Hence,

Raj : Ram : Amar = 3 : 2 : 1
