The ratio of ages of ravi and sushma three years before was 5:3 .2 years hence , ratio of their ages will be 4:3 .find the present age of ravi.

Let the present age of ravi and sushma be "r" and "s".

Acc to the question, the ratio of ages of ravi and sushma three years before was 5:3 i.e. (r-3)/(s-3) = 5/3 or, 3r - 9 = 5s - 15 or, 3r - 5s = -6----------(i)

Also, 2 years hence , ratio of their ages will be 4:3

i.e. (r+2)/(s+2) = 4/3 or, 3r + 6 = 4s + 8 or, 3r - 4s = 2.-----------(ii)

Now, i - ii we get, s = 8.

Putting the value of s in any of the equation we get, r = 34/3 = 11.34
