The ratio of amplitude of two waves is 3:4. What is the ratio of their:
(i) loudness?
(ii) frequencies?

The ratio of their loudness:
twice the amplitude - 3/4 X 3/4[3/4 square]
= 9 :16 


The ratio of their frequencies:
1:1[since frequency does not depend on amplitude]
