The area of a circle is the space occupied by it with a certain radius on a two-dimensional plane.

Thus area of a circleis πR2. As the area of a complete circle is πR2 then going by the unitary method the area of a semi-circle will be πR2 /2.

Thus the ratio of Area of circle divide by the Area of semicircle is equal to 2:1.

Area of a circle = πr²

Area of a semicircle = 1/2πr²

Find the ratio of the area of a circle : area of a semicircle:

area of circle : area of semicircle = πr² : 1/2 πr²

Multiply by 2:

area of circle : area of semicircle = 2πr² :  πr²

Divide by πr²:

area of circle : area of semicircle = 2 : 1

Answer: The ratio is 2 : 1
