Let the number of boys be x

number of girls be (36-x)

By conditions,

x:(36-x) = 7:5

 \frac{x}{36 - x} = \frac{7}{5} \\ \\ 5x = 7(36 - x) \\ \\ 5x = 252 - 7x \\ \\ 5x + 7x = 252 \\ \\ 12x = 252 \\ \\ x = \frac{252}{12} = 21

Therefore total number of boys = 21

total number of girls = 36-21 = 15

Number of boys more than girls = 21-15 = 6

Therefore there are 6 boys more than girls
