Given : The ratio of chaperones to students on a field trip is 2 : 7 . There are 14 chaperones on the field trip.

To find :  In all, how many chaperones and students are there

Solution:

The ratio of chaperones to students on a field trip is 2 : 7

=> for Every 2 Chaperones there are 7 students

=> for every 1 chaperones there will 7/2  students

=> for every 14 chaperones there will 14 * 7/2  = 49 students

Hence in Trip

chaperones  = 14

 Students  =  49

Total = 14 + 49  = 63

in all 63 chaperones and students are there
