The ratio of copper and zinc in an alloy is 5 :7. if the all contains 35.5 grams of copper, how many grams of zinc does it contain?

Ratio of Copper and zinc = 5:7

Let the total wt of alloy=x

Xx5/12=35.5

x = 426 / 5 = 85.28g

zinc = 85.28x7/12=49.7g
