LET THE SON'S AGE BE=X

AND , FATHER'S AGE BE=Y

AT PRESENT,

4X×X=196

X²=196÷4

X²=49

X=7 YEARS(SON'S AGE)

SO, FATHER'S AGE=4×7=28 YEARS

AFTER 5 YEARS

AGE OF SON, =(X+5)=12 YEARS

AGE OF FATHER=(4X+5)=33 YEARS

Ratio of father's age to son's age = 4:1 Let son's age = x yrs. So father's age is = 4x yrs. Product of ages=196 A.T.Q X×4X=196 4X^2 =196 X^2 = 49 X = 7 Son's prsnt age = 7 His age after 5 yrs. =12 yrs. Father's prsnt age = 4×7=28 His age aftr 5 yrs=33yrs. Ratio of their ages aftr 5 yrs.=12/33 =11/4
