Tungsten halogen lamp is the most common source of light in for visible region in spectrophotometer instrument.

Most of the spectrophotometer instrument use tungsten filament in halogen gas envelop, the filament produce a light of wavelength ranging from 330 to 700 nm, which comes under the visible spectrum.

It is widely use for color measurement in color spectrum.
