Answer :

➥ The total number of students in the school = 900

Given :

➤ The ratio of girls and boys in a school = 5:7

➤ There is 150 more boys in the school

To Find :

➤ Total number of students in the school = ?

Solution :

Let ,

The numbers of girls be 5x and the numbers of boys be 7x. \:

Now ,

⟾ 5x - 7x = 150

⟾ 2x = 150

⟾ x = ¹⁵⁰/₂

⟾ x = 75

Numbers of girls

⟾ 5x = 5 × 75 = 375

Numbers of boys

⟾ 7x = 7 × 25 = 525

So ,

⟾ Total numbers of students = numbers of girls + numbers of boys

⟾ Total numbers of students = 375 + 525

⟾ Total numbers of students = 900

Hence, the total numbers of students in the school is 900.

Let, the number of girls be 5x and number of boys be 7x

ATQ,

↦7x – 5x = 150

↦2x = 150

↦x = 75

.°. Number of girls is 7x = 7×75 = 525

.°. Number of boys is 5x = 5×75 = 375

Therefore, total number of students in the school is = (525 + 375) = 900
