Let, income be 5x

and expenditure be 4x

So savings =5x−4x=x

5x=18000

x=3600

So savings =3600

Answer:

Savings = 10000

Step-by-step explanation:

Income = 18000

To solve the sum we need to add ratios and find values

=5:4

=5+4

=9

Total is 9

To find expenditure the ratio already has a value which is 4

Thus to find expenditure

the formula is

4/9x18,000

=4/1x2,000

=8,000

Thus expenditure is 8000

Savings = Income - Expenditure

=18,000 - 8,000

=10,000

Therefore the family's,

Income=18,000

Expenditure=8,000

Savings=10,000
